THREE GREAT WORDS OF WISDOM FROM THREE GREAT AMERICANS –

THREE GREAT WORDS OF WISDOM FROM THREE GREAT AMERICANS –

1. George Washington –
First American president.
Born on February 22, 1732
Army General

He was important to us because he laid down the rules and codes for our modern day country. George was our first and probably best president. He was a great leader and great commander.

“Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. “– George Washington

In this quote, George Washington states his belief that government is very important in a country. He shows that he thinks government is not going to be nice, or easy, but that it will be hard, yet worthwhile. George was the first to see things the American way. He recognized the potential of this great land and decided to act with his position and authority to make it the best it could be and under good control. Washington decided to have it his way and build up a nation that is extremely powerful today.
