FIVE GREAT WISDOMS from To Kill a Mockingbird –

FIVE GREAT WISDOMS from To Kill a Mockingbird –

3. If there's just one kind of folks, why can't they get along with each other? If they're all alike, why do they go out of their way to despise each other? Scout, I think I'm beginning to understand something. I think I'm beginning to understand why Boo Radley's stayed shut up in the house all this time. It’s because he wants to stay inside. Pg 240 (Jem)

In this quote, Jem Finch makes a really good point. All men are alike in some way, and all of us have the same physical body. Although we have some differences, why can’t everyone get along? After reasoning this equation out, Jem finally realizes why Boo Radley does not come out of his house, and decides to talk about it. The world is too much stress and drama. How can a man who grew up stuck inside of a house be expected to love the outdoors? It was probably really scary for Boo Radley to even look outside of his windows. Jem Finch is a really smart boy and once he realizes why Boo stays in his house it seems as if he finds a new point of view for his neighbor.
